Paddy Power add personalisation to new live betting pages

0

I spotted this announcement on paddy power’s blog about a new live betting design – the screen shot is a bit unclear but it looks fairly traditional. The ability to select your markets for display is good but doesn’t go as far as Sportingbet’s favourites functionality (designed and built by my own company). But it is a nice touch. I would have thought a clearer schedule of current live games would provide a bit of uplift as punters get exposed to more events but that might be in there somewhere. Let’s see…

Live Betting

Live betting is already 50% of betting revenues for most online bookmakers and sportsbooks. It is higher margin and generally a more engaging experience. Football makes up the majority of live betting but Tennis is even more suited with a continual flow of bet types around anything from point by point, next serve, game betting or old fashioned match betting.

Many operators have sports betting flash applications embedded in their website. This allows for a better user experience with price changes being highlighted continuously.

Live Video

A great development for all punters out there is the increasing availability of live video streaming on bookmakers websites. We have services from Racing UK, AtTheRaces and from Perform Group – adding up to several thousand events every year to have a bet on.

You can watch the greatest number of events on Betfair, William Hill and on Bet365. The quality of the video is getting better but there is still room for improvement. I’ll keep an eye out for new services as things go on and maybe try to find the best of the bunch.
