Betfair launch new in-play live betting app
Betfair have finally upgraded their live betting interface with a new section on the web site called “in-Play”. It gets it’s own dedicated tab.
The live betting pages offer a simpler interface with integrated video and live scores. Markets are grouped (which we like) and generally it’s far less cluttered than the full exchange view. It’s especially good for football live betting.

about 1 year ago - 2 comments
I’ve been using Betfair’s mobile betting site (mobile.betfair.com) for some time and it’s pretty good. They’ve gone one better and convinced Steve Jobs to allow betting applications into the app store:
The Betfair Mobile Team is delighted to announce the official launch of the Betfair iPhone app. We have launched our very first native iPhone application as a free download for iPhone users. You can find it now by clicking on this link itms://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/betfair-client/id347621336?mt=8 so feel free to check it out today.
Betfair.com has a great offering for live betting with a wide range of events and even in-Running betting on horses which is an experience to try at least once!
William Hill to buy Centrebet
about 1 year ago - No comments
I read a story this week that William Hill are looking to break into the Australian betting market with the takeover of Centrebet. It makes some sense and they both share the same technology platform. It reminded me to get on with the reviews of the top ten so I think I’ll do William Hill
next.
Skybet launch new website
about 2 years ago - No comments
Skybet have launched their new website as a beta preview. The new website is available to all users through a link on the top right of the skybet.com home page. Of course we’re interested in the live betting experience but it’s worth a look at the overall site. It’s very easy to use with a great navigation system on the left and an unusual betslip that sits on the bottom of the page.
The site is fast, clean and simple. It’s one of the easiest sportbetting websites to use and because it is Sky there is a lot of available media, live streams, audio and stats. The main criticism is that some of this content could have been integrated better into the website but this is a minor point.
We’ll do a full review in time, I’ve included a few more screenshots here to give you an idea of what it’s like. You can always Check it out for yourself. Look for the beta site link on the top-right of the homepage.
What is the best sportsbook for live betting?
about 2 years ago - No comments
At the end of May 2009 I created a survey that you can see on the right-hand column of this page. It was a simple question – which online sportsbook offers the best live betting website. After months of voting by people like you – punters and sports fans – the results are clear. One site stands out from the rest but will they hold that lead through 2010? We’ll see. Read on for more details and cast your own vote in the live poll on the right of the page.
It’s a simple question – which online sportsbook offers the best live betting website. After 8 months the results are plainly obvious and the winner is Bet365 by a long shot. Taking 30% of the vote in a crowded and competitive market is no mean feat.
So what is it about Bet365 that allow them this lead? Why do you like them so much? From chatting to punters, reading comments and from working in the industry and speaking to companies who work with them, the answer as far as I can see is three-fold:
Skybet to launch new sportsbook in beta
about 2 years ago - No comments
I had a sneak peak at Skybet’s new sportsbook this week and it is going into beta preview next week (Feb 1st, 2010). It’s looks great and is fast! The navigation is nice and they have broken away from one of the longest running conventions in sportsbook design – the right hand side betslip.
It’s going to be a good year for Sportsbetting. Hopefully we’ll see even more great product launches but keep an eye on skybet.com for the beta preview link.
Update: Skybet have launched a new site as a beta. It’s available from a link on the top right of the home page.

The best live betting sites

You stumbled on this website because you have an interest in live betting. Before you go on your way take a look at the poll on the right. Who has the best live betting experience? I figured Betfair would win just for the breadth of coverage but the user experience is continuously improving. Bet365 have to be a strong contender as well. What’s your opinion? Is live video streaming important or do you just want best price?
I’d really appreciate your vote and you can leave a comment at the end of this post if you like on why you made your choice. Many thanks…
When love comes to town

How many bookmakers would have picked up on this? You can’t beat getting some inside information like this.
“And don’t even get me started on Sergio García, the talented boy wonder I took with my first pick this year. Then Greg Norman’s daughter dumped him. Last week, Garcia told a British tabloid that she was his first love and he has been in a funk since.”
It’s from an article on the NY times article on fantasy golf.
My other favourite was the one about the Eastern European Olympic skater. She got married in the off season, her surname changed of course and she came back and quite a few UK bookmakers priced her as an outsider. They don’t get caught out much though – hence why you have to celebrate the occasional screw-ups!
